typology

Mon Sep 3, 2007, 8:33 PM
i am doing photography in Deakin University this semester. i have one assgnment which is typology--basically we are required to take a series of photos that are similar to each other, put them together that it creates a different meaning, feelings and themes as it appeared by only a single photo. well, i was totally cluesless, no idea, stressed out because i have 2 assignment dueing at the same week as this photography assignment, and there is another quiz. one word--stress.

today's weather is just fantastic. sunny and breezing and it is a perfect day. i had a class supposedly at 9am, but we do not have a lecture--i forgot to check my study guide. anyway, i am glad that i dont have the class, and the idea of taking photos of people wering caps or hat came to my mind gradually. great. finally i decided to make them as the theme of my typology. i started approached people who weared cap or hat on the path, asked them whether can i take a photo of them with the cap/hat on. hahahaha. these were very good experieces. i approached different kind of people, all of them with cap or hat on, of course. most of them are puzzled at first, but they allowed me to take photo, and they left emails for me so that i can send them a copy when i get the assigment done. i started doing this from 9am until 12.30pm. i got 100people and 100 photos. i am glad. i am happy. one guy said i am brave. i am not sure. i was not embaressed when some people rejected me. i thanked them and i smile. that is expected. i do not feel hurt. i am so proud of myself that i managed to ask 100 strangers to take a photo of them.

some of them were really friendly, i can see that they were really honoured (yes, this is the correct word) to be taken by me, some of them let me took photo because they wanted to help me, some just did it on the purpose of compliance and peer pressure. hahahaha. some of them are puzzled from the beginning until the end. whatever~~~but i really feel thankful for their help--ok, not all people did that because they thought they are helping, but, thanks guyssss.

each of u look so great, the weather and sky are so beautiful, there are nothing more that i need to worry about how my work will turn up, because u all looks great. i am sure my typology will came out great too.

okok, i know no one will read this, but i just feel so happy that i want to jot them down , so that i when i re-read them next time, i still remember how special the experience is.

Bird and Sugar Boy

Wed Jul 18, 2007, 9:24 PM
this is the book that i borrow from uni's library on monday. it was on the 'new display' shelves. it was a book for junior. i dont know how old 'junior' refers to, but i always like books for youngster. it was more simple and touching. Roald Dahl is one of my favourite. he is so good.

the latest Harry Potter book for sure is the hottest book everyone is talking about. i read all the 6 books before, they are good, but they are not as pure as a kid would think nowadays. or nobody understand what "pure" and "kid" meant anymore? for god sake, suddenly all those psychology gender study sociology sounds so vital and important to me to understand what is going on in this world, in people's mind. ya, i was suppose to study my sociology, gender study and psychology today but they were too complicated with all those terms and jargons and cold. ended up reading Bird and Sugar Boy. it was written by Sofie Laguna. the setting was in Australia coz it mentioned about Coles, Elizabeth Street in the City, and Blue Mountains. bird and sugar boy were best friend. Bird was called 'Bird' because he loves bird so much, it was given by Sugar Boy. bird was raised up by his father and his mother shot-through (which mean left/runaway). the two boys do everything together until one day sugar boy had to leave Denham to Broome. Bird felt lost and neglected and betrayed because he felt that Sug had betrayed him, his father, school teachers and headmaster didnt really care about who he was, how much he wanted to know who his mom was, going to Blue Mountains by himself on the day before Sug fly, perhaps to prove it for Sug, his dad and teachers that he can do things by himself eventhough the whole world dont care about me. but, of course, as predicted, Bird lost himself in the city but was managed to find by his dad and uncle.

it was a story about how a boy think, feels, dreams and want things to be from his perspective. i was really touched as if i was at his side accompany his to go through all the events.

it was a simple story. no magic. no complicated-adult issue/relationships, just merely the purest friendships among two boys and the family.

okie-dokie, i really need to start my studying now. i wanna score better than just CREDIT for this semester!

writing to nobody

Mon Jul 16, 2007, 8:09 PM
i had a few blogs before but they didnt survive. well, basically its because not one read them, i am a bad writer, i didnt advertise them and update them frequent enough. when no one is there supporting u, it get real hard sometimes.

okok. fare enough.

i read a few blogs of my friends, they are really good. wondering how many effort and time they'd put in. some of them impressed me by how fancy the design of their blog is, some of them are really good writer, some of them put in alot of elements, chatting box, with musics, advertisement, etc. well well well. i still have a long way to go.

i am not very good in expressing myself. nor to share things with others. but i realised this is really hard and boring sometimes, especially i like to take photos and not all friends around who has the knowledge/interest/time/comment to tell/share/improve/look at my productions. i think here would be a good place to start and share with.

i am a formal writer, ie try not to use short-form as possible. i am kinda outdated with the latest funkiest terms that are "fashion" nowadays. anyhow, here i am, writing here.

shoot me whatever you like.

or, just let me blah blah blah. but do feel phree to chunk-in.

anytime~~
